Greater Atlanta HBA Names 2019 55+ Council Board

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) has announced its 2019 Board of Directors for the Atlanta 55+ Housing Council, a division of the GAHBA dedicated to providing resources to home builders focused on creating housing for adults age 55 and over. The new Board members are:

Officers:

  • Jennifer Landers, vice president, operations, Newland Communities, incoming Board chair
  • Geoffrey Reid, director of land acquisition – Georgia, Century Communities, incoming Board vice chair
  • Dusty Talbert, marketing manager, Smith Douglas Communities, 2018 Board chair

Board Members:

  • Eric Burrus, marketing manager, GMD Design Group
  • Betsy Sheppard, founder and owner, Gilbert & Sheppard Group
  • Gordon Talias, mortgage loan originator, Southeast Mortgage
  • Chris Poston, senior vice president, Traton Homes
  • Brian Thomas, vice president of construction, Isakson Living
  • Jennifer Crosby, president and CEO, Crosby Design Group
  • Michael Rosenberg, president, Paran Homes, LLC
  • Jim Chapman, president, Jim Chapman Communities
  • Jatunn Gibson, manager – aging in place, Habitat for Humanity International
  • Brant Hurdelbrink, sales representative, VELUX America LLC
  • Ken Witte, CMPS, branch manager/reverse mortgage specialist, Certainty Home Loans

“The Atlanta 55+ Housing Council was established in 2003 to offer educational resources, networking opportunities and more for HBA members who are involved the building, design, development, finance, marketing and sales of active adult housing,” said Emily Raymond, GAHBA member relations manager. “Adults age 55 and over are the fastest-growing population segment of this century, and their housing needs range from traditional neighborhoods to active adult communities to assisted living facilities and more. Our Board of Directors works to develop a higher level of professionalism in our general membership through continuing education about 55+ housing and the interchange of ideas.”

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association is a not-for-profit professional trade association with a membership of more than 1,000 residential builders, developers, contractors, remodelers, trade specialists and housing industry professionals.
