More Than 100 New Members Added During Month of April

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) wrapped up our 2022 Membership Drive on April 28, and we are pleased to announce that thanks to everyone’s hard work we brought in 85 new members during the drive and 114 during the month of April! This was 8 more members than we brought in during the 2021 drive and a year-to-date increase of 9.3% for the association.

We celebrated the end of the drive and welcomed new members last week with a Low Country Boil hosted by the Associates Council. The event was held at the GAHBA office and included drinks, door prizes for new members, and a shrimp and crawfish boil.

We could not have had this success without the participation of our members who volunteered and helped with recruitment during the drive and the leadership of our Membership Director Gary Magee who organized the effort. This started out with a call-a-thon on April 12 and 13, hosted by Engel & Völkers Atlanta North Fulton, where about 50 members were onsite making calls to bring in new members, as well as April and May renewals. The drive continued for the next two weeks, culminating on April 28.

Congratulations to GAHBA Vice President Maurice Lester of The JW Collection for leading the top recruiting team during the drive! (Full results for the teams led by the GAHBA Executive Committee members are listed below.) The top two individual recruiters were GAHBA Past President Jim Chapman of Jim Chapman Communities, who brought in 23 new members, and David Schimming of D.R. Horton Atlanta, who brought in 13 new members.

Several raffle prizes were up for grabs for members participating in the membership drive. For each new member recruited during the drive, participants were entered into drawings for a Yeti 65-Gallon Tundra cooler donated by Ryan Homes and a Milwaukee M18 Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Kit donated by Milwaukee Tool. In addition, all members who attend the call-a-thon were entered to win a Yeti Hopper cooler provided by Construction Resources. Congratulations to raffle winners Matt Hopkins of SEI Group, Keegan O’Reilly of Brand Vaughan Lumber, and David Schimming of D.R. Horton Atlanta.

Much appreciation to everyone who participated in the drive and to all our new members! Also big thanks to Engel & Völkers, Haven Design Works, Jackson EMC, Milwaukee Tool, and Pella Windows and Doors for sponsoring the Low Country Boil/Welcome Party and to membership drive sponsors Jackson EMC, James Hardie, Maverick, Milwaukee Tool, Offerpad, O’Kelley & Sorohan, and SEI GROUP.
