Val Pratt hired as new GAHBA Government Affairs Director

We are pleased to announce that Vallarie (Val) Pratt has been hired to serve as the new Government Affairs Director for the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA). Val comes to the GAHBA from her alma mater, Dalton State College where for the last several years she has successfully served in the role of Director of Government Affairs and Alumni Relations. Prior to that role her experience has included serving as Chief of Staff to state Senator Chuck Payne and as the Executive Director of the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society. In addition to these professional roles, Val has volunteered with many organizations including Rotary, the Historic Huff House, and the Dalton Chamber of Commerce. She does public speaking on the role of leadership within communities, local history, civil discourse, and civic engagement. Val holds a bachelor’s degree in American History from Dalton State College and a master’s degree in American History with an additional certification in Museum Studies from the University of West Georgia. She enjoys travelling, gardening, motorcycles, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Although a native of northwest Georgia, she now calls Woodstock home. She has been married to her husband Shaun for 28 years. They have two sons, Ryan & Ethan, and welcomed their 1st grandchild Sawyer in 2019.
